Vehicles and equipment
Our fleet consists of Mercedes Benz Sprinter 315 CDI, model years 2011 and 2012 imported from Germany. These minibuses are equipped with all the high tech electronic stability and braking systems that are exclusive developments by Mercedes technology. They have 16 individual reclining passenger seats (excluding the driver’s seat), each seat is equipped with a seatbelt and an adjustable headrest. For light baggage there is a spacious overhead compartment so there isn’t any luggage blocking the gangway or the foot space. These vehicles are equipped with picture windows but the sometimes bothersome low sun can be blocked with the help of curtains.
Important for our latitudes is the dual air conditioning system that may be separately controlled. So that no-one misses a thing, the guide uses a wireless microphone transmitting his voice over the vehicle’s sound system.
Since the Mercedes Sprinter are not suitable on unpaved roads on camping trips our means of transportation are Chevrolet Express Vans 3500, model years 2004 and 2012 with a capacity of 14 passengers (excluding the driver’s seat) on benches equipped with individual seat belts. These vehicles are also equipped with all the modern electronic stability and braking systems that are state of the art technology and also feature a dual air conditioning system which can be separately controlled. The passenger compartment is less spacious but the vehicle, because of its low gravity point, is able to manage quite difficult road conditions.
All vehicles undergo a strict service and preventative maintenance schedule; it is also worth mentioning that we only use the best tires available on the market.
All of our vehicles carry not only security (first aid kits, extinguishers, tools) and maintenance equipment, but also an on board library with maps, books and field guides in English covering all aspects of nature - from plants to marine mammals to birds and much more. There is also an icebox on board to offer you cold drinks and last but not least we carry a stool to help you get in and out of the vehicle easily.
The main luggage is normally transported in enclosed cargo trailers by the renowned manufacturer Wells Cargo. Both the cargo compartment and the entire hitching system are locked so your luggage is safe at all times.
